Camden has long been a good location for Street Art, however recently there have been some key building works going on where the old market was between the Canal and the railway arches, which means some of the art may never be seen again once the builders have gone.

Either way this is a cracking area to visit at the weekend anyway so take in the Art, the Markets and the general vibe over a few hours.

Cafine Start

The map starts on the Chalk Farm Road at the junction with Hawley Street.

The key reason is that there is always some good art here, but also there is a Costa Coffee on the corner – time to stock up !

Hawley Street

Wander down the first 50 yards of Hawley St and then turn left into Hawley Mews, Often some good stuff from Otto Schade to be seen amongst others.

Wander to the end of Hawley Mews and through the small walkway, turn left onto Hartland Road, one or two pieces here, currently a Dan Kitchener plus others.

Chalk Farm Road

Back onto the Chalk Farm Road and turn left towards the railway bridge, left under the bridge onto Castlehaven Road often pieces on both sides of the road around here.

Keep walking down the road, on your right is the area where much art was before the building work started, walk under the bridge and you,ll see a couple of pieces on either side of the bridge.

Keep on the same road as it bends round to the right into Hawley Road.

On your left down Hawley Road is Quinns Pub, the wall just before the pub holds a superb piece of art from Irony.

Continue and turn right into Kentish town Road, over the canal and take a short detour up Hawley Cresent, nice piece on the back of the Devonshire Arms pub

Trinity Church Yard

Back to the Kentish Town Road, turn right. after a few hundred yards after the Trinity Church is a small yard with 3-5 pieces in it including another Dan Kitchener.

Across the road up high is a large wall which changes from time to time but is normally of high quality.

Bayham Street

Follow the road to the end where Camden Road Station is, turn Left down A503 camden road, on your right is a few pieces on Bayham Street. Continue to walk down Camden road for a couple of hundred yards, on the right hand side of the road there are occasional doors some with Amy Winehouse based tributes, retrace your steps back to Bayham Street.

Alexander the Great

We now have a fairly long walk down Bayham street with limited art.

At the cross roads with Pratt Street another Amy Winehouse tribute, then walk down as far as Plender Street where you will find the Alexander the Great Restaurant, large Mural on the side wall from Alice Pasquini .

Be at One

Turn right into Plender Street. at the end of the road cross directly over into Miller street, (to the side of the Be At One Bar) , there are a number of pieces from various artists including MrCenz on the walls and at the back of the pub.

Braithwaite Street

Tour ends here, Camden town or Mornington Crescent Tube stations are at either end of Camden High Street.

Alternatively wander back to the Market and the Canal or one of the many pubs you just walked past.
